Growing up estranged from her father but carrying the White Bear name, Shauna grew up in the suburbs of Tacoma, Washington, struggling with an identity that never felt enough on the White Shield reservation nor in her life at school.

She began recording VHS tape messages to her dad talking about school, her life, and her feelings but he never received them. Now, she reflects back 30 years in a dialogue about how we heal and forgive.
